2010 Fairfax Short Documentary Film Challenge

Spring is on its way and that means its time to grab your video camera and get ready for the 4th Annual Fairfax Short Documentary Film Challenge. March 26th - 28th.

WHO
The Challenge is open to anyone, both individually and in teams, who want to participate.  Many of our previous entrants have been first time filmmakers as well as professional documentary filmmakers.
You must supply your own equipment.
 
WHAT
Film “Challengers” make a 4-minute documentary about the quirky town of Fairfax in just 48 hours.  Completed films will be screened the next weekend at the Fairfax Documentary Film Festival

WHERE
Meet at Fairfix Cafe, 33 Broadway, Fairfax, Marin County, next to the Fairfax Movie Theater

WHEN
At 7 PM, Friday, March 26, organizers will give out three elements that must be in every film.  That starts the clock on the 48 hours that ends at 7 PM, March 28.

HOW
There’s no registration and no fee for entering. Filmmakers can register by signing up online at www.fairfaxdocchallenge.com or at the Fairfix Café at 7 PM, Friday, March 26.   The screening of the finished Challenge films will be Sunday, April 11 at 2 and 6 pm, as part of the Fairfax Documentary Festival, April 9, 10, and 11 at the Fairfax Movie Theater.   Awards and prizes will be announced after the 6pm screening.

HOW MUCH/HOW MANY

A $10 ticket gets you into the film Challenge screening.  The theater holds only 109 seats, so buy your tickets in advance; tickets can be purchased on the Fairfax Documentary Film Festival website:
