Wrapping an active year in community media

First, we’d like to thank our members, viewers, and volunteers who have made this an exceptional year for the CMCM and Marin TV. We feel the holiday season is also a great time to reflect on and share with you the past year’s successes. On top of a record year for programming and media certifications, the following are some of the many accomplishments achieved over the past year:

• We launched the Marin Media Speaker Series, bringing innovative media professionals to the Marin community on a participatory and accessible platform.

• Election season saw CMCM staff and volunteers team up with Democracy Now! to broadcast their daily show from our studio and followed that with a live presidential debate at the Jewish Community Center.

• The inaugural game for the San Rafael Pacifics was broadcast live on Marin TV, with the help of local production companies and CMCM volunteers.

• For a second consecutive year, we partnered with youth from the Intel Computer Clubhouse in producing a daily show from the Mill Valley Film Festival, highlighting directors, films, and educational programs.
