Facility & Equipment
CMCM has a large inventory of production equipment available to members, including a production studio, portable field cameras, an Anycast kit for multi-camera field shoots, a professional editing lab and a private editing suite.
The CMCM studio is a robotic four camera remote studio with low energy fluorescent lighting and a double curtain cyc (black/gray/green screen). In addition to camera inputs there are computer, DV tape and DVD sources available for the Grass Valley Indigo switcher. Producers can record programming straight to hard disk, DV tape and/or DVD. Audio is mixed via a 24 channel Yamaha mixer. Basic CG for titles is available via a Compix CG system. Other features include a teleprompter, a phone hybrid for taking live on air calls, and a talent IFB and COM system for a floor manager. Depending on the complexity of the production, the entire control room operations can be managed by a two to four person crew.
Professional Sony Z5 HDV cameras are available for checkout along with microphones (wireless, wired, handheld, lavalier, shotgun, etc.), tripods, lights, and all associated accessories.
The editing lab consists of twelve iMac digital video editing workstations running Mac OS X and the newest versions of Final Cut Studio and Adobe Creative Suite. Members can check out portable external firewire drives to store video media while editing. Also available is a professional private editing suite.
For multi-camera shoots in the field, members can use the Anycast portable field switcher. The Anycast Field Kit consists of the Sony Anycast switcher, three Sony PD170 cameras, a Sony GVH-D700 recorder and other necessary cables and components.
