Uploading Videos to the Web

In this course, students will learn the basics of uploading videos to the web. Starting with selecting a video hosting site, the course will go step by step through the compression/encoding process, to ultimately upload a video. Students will be expected to bring in a Standard Definition Quicktime video clip under ten minutes to use for the course. Blip.tv will be used as the video hosting site, but the class will also show students how to submit the video to Marin TV's On Demand Site as well as distribute it to other video sharing sites. Students will encode the video to Flash using Adobe Media Encoder to get the highest quality playback and resolution. Other topics include Creative Commons licensing, tagging, codecs, and compression tips.

Completion of the Basic Final Cut Pro Class is required for this course.
