A peek at the headlines of this day reveal just how crazy the world was then, a respite perhaps from the surreal days of today. Read the full article and the headlines in the attached pdf below.

"The Astonishing Beauty of Marin" Virtual Art Gallery

The Community Media Center of Marin presents "The Astonishing Beauty of Marin," a virtual art gallery featuring works by Kathleen Goodwin on exhibit through August 31.

Goodwin’s oil paintings and watercolors of Marin are done both on location and in the studio. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Bolinas Museum, the Claudia Chapline Gallery, Gallery Route One, and Toby’s Feed Barn in Point Reyes. She is the author of “Point Reyes Visions” and co-author of “California Trip” and “Visions of Marin.” Goodwin was drawn to Marin County because of its wide-open spaces and wildlife, reminiscent of her native South Africa.

Santa Rosa council says media center too important to lose

Finding that the voice that the Community Media Center of the North Bay gives to the public is too important to risk losing, the Santa Rosa council on Tuesday rejected a plan to cut off its funding.

Instead, the City Council wants its staff to bring back a recommendation in a month on how the media center and the public access it provides might survive.

But is was also clear that the council didn't want the city of Santa Rosa, which provides more than 80 percent of the media center's funding, to continue to shoulder the load alone.
